Trade Marketing Representative – Carreras Limited (Island Wide)

Purpose Statement:

The Trade Marketing Representative (TMR) will play a critical role in the delivery of the KPIs for the Trade Marketing and Distribution (TM&D) function. He/she will be responsible for supporting a significant customer base and to help us grow the business in the assigned Area / Channel. He/she is responsible for the execution and development of all plans and programmes for his/her customers, through collaboration with other key internal and external stakeholders. The overall objective of the role is to drive and implement the strategic direction and management of the Trade Marketing and Distribution function so that brand development is optimized at consumer and customer levels, which includes coordinating all consumer marketing efforts

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Implementation of account strategy and plans to ensure that volume / profit objectives are achieved through the most efficient use of resources
  • Proactively develop, design and implement strategies to increase market share within the assigned area
  • Classify and re-classify new and existing outlets (consumer profile) to reflect the current purchasing habits and strategic positioning of outlets and to secure opportunities for increased sales and wider distribution
  • Acquire market research and intelligence on consumers, brands and competitive activities as well as maintain records of customer accounts in order to provide accurate and useful information to aid in effective planning an decision-making
  • Assist the brands team in the administration and implantation of consumer directed promotions and trade promotions
  • Build and maintain close working relationships within the trade while negotiating on behalf of the company to ensure a position of strength in strategic accounts
  • Identify and develop future business opportunities with strategic accounts in order to impact the overall TM&D universe
  • Submit weekly and monthly reports regarding trade marketing initiatives and activities
  • Maintain and leverage current knowledge of the company’s brands, competition and the industry to garner support from the trade and consumers
  • Train and assist customers on the proper merchandising and handling of the Company’s brands to ensure the proper maintenance and effective displays of all brands and that agreed shelf positioning, facing and stock levels are met and maintained

 Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or equivalent along with relevant subject matter professional competencies
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a similar position in FMCG
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft suite of products
  • A valid Drivers’ license no less than two (2) years old
